- Connects students with the National Merit Scholarship program (if the student scores are exemplary)

FAFSA Completion Night: Wednesday, October 7, 2020
In order to attend post-high school education, each student must fill out the FAFSA, which allows students to qualify for grants and/or student loans. We are holding a FAFSA Completion Night on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in the Commons from 6:00 – 8:00pm, in which students and parents can complete the FAFSA while financial aid advisors are available to answer any questions. For this meeting, you will need to bring the following:
Social Security Numbers for student and parent
Alien Registration Number, if the student is not a U.S. citizen
2019 federal tax returns, W-2’s, and other records of income
Banking statements and records of investments (if applicable)
Records of untaxed income
An FSA ID to sign electronically.
To speed the process along, it is best to create this beforehand at fsaid.ed.gov, but it can be created at the time of application
List of colleges the student would like to attend
Parental information is required unless the student is at least 24 years of age or meets the criteria for filing as an independent student as described on the FAFSA. Refer to www.FAFSA.gov
Only parents who do not have a Social Security number can enter 000-00-0000 on the FAFSA.
You (student) must report income and assets for yourself and for your parents.
Please wear a mask for the duration of the meeting
Temperature checks will occur as people enter
If attendees exceed appropriate room capacities per CDC guidelines, we will have overflow areas in the Commons.
SAT Testing for Class of 2021 – Still an IL State Graduation Requirement
Who: ALL SENIORS
Where: RHS Campus
When: Wednesday, October 14, 2020
Time: 7:50am to approximately 1:30pm
The state of IL mandates that all students must take the SAT in order to receive a high school diploma. Due to the cancellation of our state-mandated testing last spring, the Illinois State Board of Education is offering a new date for SAT testing on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, during the school-day on the RHS campus. This date is for current RHS seniors only.
Since this test date falls on a Wednesday, it will be an asynchronous remote-learning day for all grade 9 through 11 students, and the RHS campus will have all empty classrooms to utilize for SAT testing. To ensure student and staff safety, the following measures will be taken:
- No classroom will contain more than 9 students
- Temperature checks will be made at the door, prior to beginning testing
- Students will be spaced over 6 feet apart in all directions
- Masks will be required for the duration of testing
