Fourth Grade
WELCOME TO FOURTH GRADE!
Achieving Excellence with Passion, Pride, and Partnership
Fourth grade is an exciting journey filled with amazing learning opportunities that teach your child increasingly complex academic skills. Our goal in fourth grade at Central Intermediate is to build a strong learning community that is a joyful and challenging place to learn.
Students will feel comfortable taking risks, trust one another, and know how to ask for help and receive feedback to grow as a learner. Because 4th grade is a time when both academic expectations and student anxieties tend to rise, creating safe and collaborative learning communities is vital. In fourth grade, students make the transition from “learning to read” to “reading to learn” and it is an important year for strengthening basic skills while gaining a greater command of more complex and mature social and academic skills. The standards are more rigorous and students are expected to become more independent.
You’ve entrusted us with your greatest treasure, your child. Education and community are our priorities and we want to give your child the best education possible. We love working with families, students, and colleagues to create a welcoming learning environment. We look forward to a very successful and productive school year filled with memories!
