Good morning Shells! Today is Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a moment of silence.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Don’t forget to see Ms. Hanneken about the Framed Photo Contest which ends today. Participants need to take pictures of animals and plants in the garden behind the science building. 3 winners will be awarded $25.00 VISA gift cards.
Roxana High School, are you ready for your first Homecoming class competition—and to help the environment?
Here’s what you need to do: bring in your old, unwanted sneakers for recycling! The class that collects the most sneakers will sneak their way into first place before the Homecoming Pep Rally even begins.
Bins for shoe collection are located outside Ms. Hanneken’s room.
Good luck, everyone, and thank you for doing your part to help save our planet!
Science Club will have its first meeting today after school in Ms. Hanneken’s room. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Attention Juniors: We will be offering an opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 8th at 8am to any student who would like to take it. The cost is $13, and you can sign up and pay in the guidance office. This test is used as a National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, for students who score very high. It can also be used to practice and prepare for taking the SAT. The deadline to sign up and pay is Tuesday, September 9th. Checks can be made out to Roxana High School.
Keep in mind, RHS will be giving the ACT, not the SAT, in the spring to all juniors during the school day. We are no longer offering the SAT at RHS. Students wishing to take the SAT have to sign up to take it on a Saturday at a local testing center. Both ACT and SAT can be used for college entrance purposes. For more information, please see Mrs. Garrison or Mrs. Hansen.
Memberships for The Reef 2025–2026 are available now! Membership is $10 and includes entry to all home games for the year. Check your email for the sign-up link. Deadline is next Friday, September 5th.
Friday night will be the first home Football game of the season, and the theme is Hawaiian! Wear your brightest island gear and bring the energy to the stands.
Congratulations to our volleyball team who went 3-0 last night and have advanced to the championship bracket of our volleyball tournament on Saturday.
Thank you for the REEF for bringing the spirit and cleaning up your trash after the game.
Homecoming Guest Forms are now available in the Main Office. Forms need to be turned in to the Main Office by 3:00pm on Wednesday, September 17th. Guest Forms require a photo ID and the signature of the guest’s principal, so do not wait until the last couple of days. Again, Guest Forms for Homecoming are due September 17th.
