Daily Announcements

Good morning Shells! Today is Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a moment of silence.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,

and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Any 10th, 11th or 12th grader who wants to explore options within the military should sign up to take the ASVAB test on November 13th in the CoLab Room.  Interested students need to sign up in the guidance office and submit the permission form by Friday, October 31st.  See Mrs. Garrison or Mrs. Hansen for more information.

Seniors, it’s that time of the year to fill out your senior section of the yearbook! You should have received the Senior Section Google Form in your email this morning. Please let Mrs. Schrewe know if you have any questions. Senior Forms are due December 12th! Even if you don’t have your senior picture taken, please fill out the form now and then upload your picture later.

This Friday, there will be voter registration available in the lunchroom during all lunch periods. Don’t miss your chance to make your voice heard. Stop by the voter registration table this Friday at lunch!

Ms. Snyder is asking all students, not just those in Spanish classes, to help create a school-wide Day of the Dead altar. The altar will include photos of loved people and pets who have passed on. Bring or email photos to Ms. Snyder before October 24 to honor our loved ones in the ROX gallery for Day of the Dead.

This Friday night, our Varsity Football Team takes on East Alton-Wood River, and the theme will be PINK OUT!  Show your support for breast cancer awareness and our team by wearing as much pink as you can to the game.

The lunch menu for today includes

Wed: Today, Commons Cafe will feature Egg Roll with Veggie Fried Rice, Kyoto Veggie Blend & Fortune Cookie

This type of menu is found in many Asian countries, except that it is believed the Egg Roll is actually American American-Chinese version of Spring Rolls, and most egg rolls do not even include egg!

History Fact: National School Lunch Week was created by President Kennedy in 1962 to emphasize the importance of a healthy school lunch in students’ lives.

Students, at this time, your cellphones should be docked in your classrooms and your backpacks in your lockers.
