ROXANA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL RECOGNIZES 2026-27 ILLINOIS STATE SCHOLARS
Illinois Student Assistance Commission congratulates 11 Roxana Senior High School students for their exceptional academic achievement
Roxana, IL – Roxana Senior High School Principal, Jason Dandurand, is pleased to announce that (11) students from the Roxana Senior High School graduating class of 2026 have been recognized as Illinois State Scholars.
The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), the state’s college access and financial aid agency, presents this annual recognition of academic achievement to exceptional Illinois high school students who rank in the top ten percent of graduates from Illinois high schools. This year, nearly 19,200 honorees join the other outstanding students who have been honored since the designation was first introduced in 1958.
Mr. Dandurand had nothing but wonderful things to say about these exceptional students. "On behalf of the faculty and staff at Roxana High School, I'd like to congratulate these students on this prestigious academic achievement. This acknowledgement from ISAC is a true testament to their hardwork and dedication over the years. We are extremely proud of them for this well-deserved recognition.”
The following Roxana Senior High School students were named 2026-2027 Illinois State Scholars:
Illinois State Scholars are chosen based on a combination of exemplary ACT or SAT test scores and class rank at the end of their junior year.
“ISAC proudly congratulates this year’s Illinois State Scholars for their commitment to excellence,” said ISAC Executive Director Eric Zarnikow. “Their dedication will continue to benefit them in college and beyond. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the families, educators, and communities who support and guide these students every day.”
The Illinois State Scholar designation is a non-monetary award. Each State Scholar will receive a congratulatory letter and a Certificate of Achievement from ISAC. Additionally, awardees can download an official Illinois State Scholar Program badge to display on their online profiles, social media platforms, and share with their high school counselors, colleges, employers, family members and others. In deference to the variability of policies among high schools regarding publishing student information online, ISAC will not post the names of the Illinois State Scholar finalists on its website.
*Note that the Illinois State Scholar Program designates honorees based on the year they would begin any postsecondary education, not based on the year they graduate from high school.
