Back to School Parent Letter (2026-27)
Dear RHS Families,
I hope this letter finds you well, enjoying your summer. We are looking forward to our students returning as final preparations are made for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year at RHS.
The first day of school for students will be Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
This will be a half-day (7:50 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.)
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
I want to thank everyone for going through our required registration process online this summer. Your time and commitment are greatly appreciated.
If you have not registered for the upcoming school year, there will be a District Registration day for all grade levels on Thursday, July 30, 2026. High School Registration will take place in the high school office from 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

WHAT’S NEW IN 2026
RHS Revisits Policies & Procedures:
Parents, in order to promote a safe and positive experience at RHS, please review our updated Student Handbook for the 2026-2027 school year with your child.
Facility Upgrades Across Campus:
A huge shout out to the hard working custodial and maintenance crews for all their efforts this summer in cleaning and preparing our campus to open for our students and staff.

Welcome our NEW RHS Teachers:
Andrew Springer - Special Education Department. Mr. Springer will be taking things over in our Shell Cafe as well as co-teaching throughout the school day. We are excited to have Mr. Springer on the team working with our students and collaborating with staff.

Thursday, July 30, 2026 | District Registration and Back to School Kick-Off: Grades K-8 will register in the Commons Junior High will register in the JH Office High School will register in the HS Office 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. |
Monday, August 3, 2026 | All Sports Parent Meeting A Parent Meeting will take place at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium the evening of Monday, August 3. The purpose of this meeting is to welcome everyone back, cover all athletic policies/procedures, and disucss changes for the upcoming school year. |
Wednesday, August 12, 2026 | 9th Grade & New Student Orientation: Springboard to Success 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. All 9th Grade and new students are welcome to attend our in-person Springboard to Success. This program will run from 12:00-3:00 pm and covers important information to help our 9th graders and new students prepare for life at RHS. RHS Student Ambassadors and staff will oversee the program. (9th Grade/New) Parent Meeting: 6:00 p.m. (Auditorium) A Parent Meeting will take place at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium the evening of Wednesday, August 12. The purpose of this meeting is to welcome 9th grade & new parents to RHS and review logistics & pertinent information about the start of school. |
Wednesday, August 19, 2026 | First Day of School for Students! (½ Day: 7:50 - 11:20 a.m.) The 2026-27 school year kicks off on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. This will be a half-day for students. The RHS school day will begin at 7:50 am and conclude at 11:15 am. Early Bird classes will not meet on this day. |
Tuesday, August 25, 2026 | RHS School Picture Day: JostensPIX A Picture Retake Day will take place on October 2nd. |
Thursday, August 26, 2026 | Meet the Teacher Night RHS Open House 6:00 p.m. All RHS families are cordially invited to attend our Open House to meet their child(ren’s) teachers for the upcoming school year. This event will run from 6:00-7:30 pm on the RHS Campus. |
September 28 - October 3 | 2026 Homecoming Week: Football vs. Bismarck-Henning HS on Friday, October 2 Homecoming Dance and Coronation on Saturday, October 3 |
