8th Grade Students will be receiving a Google Form today to volunteer to be a student council representative for the Class of 2029. There is no petition to fill out. Just sign up and share the required information. If you ran for class office, please also fill this form out.
Big congratulations are in order for the JH track team. The boys are the 2025 East Alton relay champions and the girls are the 2025 runner ups. 1st place wins and points go to Jaxon McBride, Kaiden Bennet, and Parker Hankins for shot; Brayden Hendrix, Brody Morris, Austin Elliot, and Eli Katzmarek for the 4x200; Matthew McGee, Brody Morris, and Gage Kamorian for High Jump; Brody Morris, JJ Pennington, Logan Cox, Matthew McGee for the hurdle shuttle; Logan Cox, Brayden Hendrix, Matthew McGee, and Brody Morris in the 8th grade 4x100; Brady Cox, JJ Pennington, colt Doyle, and Gage Kamorion in the 7th grade 4x100; Braydon Hendrix, Eli Katzmarek, Jordan Akeleh, and Matthew McGee in the Bullet Relay; and Savannah Cline, Kitty Shaw, Chloe Dillinger, and Nova Shaw in the 4x400. It's that time of year again! The annual RJHS Variety show is right around the corner! If you can dance, sing, play an instrument, perform a comedy act, we would love for you to showcase your abilities! Please email Mrs. Sasser or stop by her room to sign up. A required practice for the talent show will be held on Tuesday, May 20th, after school in the auditorium. Per tradition, ALL new staff members are required to perform!
8th Grade Grad Dance will be Friday, May 9th from 7pm-9pm at the RoxArena. Students are not allowed to leave early unless a parent picks them up. Cost is $5 per student. Tickets will be sold this today during lunch. Tickets will also be available at the door. Only RJHS 8th graders are allowed to attend. No guests will be allowed.
Don't forget Friday evening is our dance in the junior high gym from 6:00-8:00. Doors will open at 6:00. Cost is $5. All food and drinks must be in designated areas. Bring a note to the ticket taker if you are walking or riding home with someone other than your parents. Join us for a fun filled evening of dancing, games, prizes, and delicious snacks. Student Council Members signed up to work the dance, you will not pay to get into the dance, and your tickets will be at the door with the ticket taker in an envelope with your name on it. Make sure you get your tickets from the ticket taker at the door.
Luminary Bags will be for sale next week on Monday morning from 7:30-8:00 and at each lunch time in the Commons. Cost is $5 each, and when purchasing a bag, you may bring a photo of the person you are honoring with the bag. RSVPs for the Mini Relay for Life Invitations are due by noon on Thursday, May 13th. Cooper Riedisser and Michael Knight, meet Mrs. Russell in front of the Concession stand Monday morning at 7:30 to help with selling luminary bags. Emily Parker and Aubrie Friedrich meet Mrs. Russell in the Commons at the very beginning of 1st lunch to get you set up to sell them, and Kaylynn Williams and Maesyn Pate, please meet Mrs. Russell in her room as soon as you can before 2nd lunch to get supplies to sell them at 2nd lunch.
