Announcement

Happy Birthday today to Jumar Cornell.

Talent Search will be meeting in the Library tomorrow during advisory.

This week is National School Social Work Week, and we want to take a moment to shine a spotlight on our very own, the incredible Mrs. Charlesworth. School social workers are the "glue" that helps hold our school together, and Mrs. Charlesworth is a perfect example. Whether she is providing a listening ear, helping students navigate tough days, or connecting families with vital resources, her impact is felt in every corner of our school. Mrs. Charlesworth creates a welcoming environment where every student feels seen and heard. She helps us find solutions to challenges both inside and outside the classroom. Her empathy and dedication make our school a kinder, stronger place to learn. Join us in saying a huge THANK YOU! If you see Mrs. Charlesworth in the halls this week, please give her a high-five, a smile, or a quick note of appreciation for everything she does for our students and staff. Happy National School Social Work Week!

It’s day one of Respect Week, and today we’re learning about Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD. Autism affects how people communicate, interact, and experience the world. It’s called a “spectrum” because it looks different for everyone—some need more support, others less. Here are a few quick facts: ASD affects about 1 in 36 children in the U.S. People with autism may be sensitive to sounds, lights, or textures. Many have amazing talents in areas like art, music, or memory. With support and understanding, students with autism can thrive! Respect means being kind, patient, and inclusive—especially when someone thinks or communicates differently. Have a thoughtful Tuesday and keep spreading kindness! Unified Facts of the Day: • Special Olympics Illinois offers 13 different Unified Sports: Basketball, track and field, soccer, dance (at the high school level with IHSA), bass fishing (at the high school level with IHSA), cornhole, esports, golf, bocce, bowling, tennis, flag football, and volleyball. • There are nearly 40,000 Unified Sports teams worldwide • More than 70 colleges across the country offer Unified programming as well!

Tomorrow is wild west day- wear your most western clothing….yehhhhaw

There is practice for Junior science Olympiad today, tomorrow and Thursday after school until 3:30 in Mrs. Russell‘s room for the students that are participating. If you have not returned your permission slips please do so ASAP.

Good morning, Roxana Shells. This week, we celebrate National School Breakfast Week! Make time for breakfast & treat your growing body right!

School breakfasts play a big role in helping students get the nutrition they need to learn, grow, and be healthy. Studies have shown that school breakfast is a big supplier of foods most kids don’t eat enough of—whole grains, fruits, and dairy. The study also found that kids who eat school breakfast eat more of these foods than kids who eat breakfast elsewhere.

Remember, everyone can have one breakfast free of charge at all of our schools. See you for breakfast tomorrow! Tomorrow’s breakfast is Yogo Coffee Cooler with mini donut or strawberry cream cheese bagel.
