It’s day three of Respect Week, and today we’re learning about Craniosynostosis (say: kray-nee-oh-sin-oss-TOE-sis), a condition where a baby’s skull bones close too early. Facts: This can affect head shape and brain growth and often requires surgery. With early treatment, most kids with craniosynostosis grow up healthy and strong. Respect means understanding and supporting others—even when their journey looks different from ours. Have a thoughtful Thursday and keep spreading kindness! Unified Facts of the Day: ▪ Respect Week has been celebrated in Illinois for over 10 years ▪ Over 320,000 students were involved in Unified sports in the 2023 – 2024 school year ▪ There are 5.3 million Special Olympics athletes, Unified partners, and volunteers across 200 countries
