Good evening, families. To show support for our varsity football team and its historic playoff run, we are encouraging all students and staff to wear red tomorrow to school. We wish the football team and coaching staff success Saturday against Mt. Carmel.

The students in those grade level houses will be bringing home a permission slip today to attend a movie at the Roxana Nazarene Theater. All students will receive a soda and popcorn. The theater charges $5 per student. We are asking parents to send in $3 for their student to offset the cost, but no student will be excluded if they cannot pay. If anyone in the community would like to sponsor a student or two for these trips, donations can be made to Roxana Jr. High. 254-7561.
Here are the House Heroes for October! Congratulations to our students. ❤️💙💛

Mrs. Suhre's class has been reading about the NASA OSIRIS-REx Mission. NASA was able to obtain a sample from the asteroid Bennu and brought it back to earth, dropping it in a desert in Utah for scientists to retrieve and study. Last week, Mrs. Suhre's class made their own asteroids and created three versions of Landers. Their goal was to successfully drop the asteroids from space (the classroom window) to Utah (the ground) without hurting the asteroid. Everyone had fun, but only one person was successful in keeping their asteroid safe on the trip to earth!

Tomorrow is an early dismissal, SIP day. Wear your house shirt or house color! We will be spinning the wheel for more points and playing a game. Any House can be in the lead after tomorrow!
Last Friday Mr. Son taught our 6th-grade students about ratios by having them make pancakes during class. What an incredible way to unlock the understanding of ratios with our students. Great job, Mr. Son!
The only question I have about the lesson is why didn't Mrs. Brannon or I get any pancakes????

We can't hide our Shell pride! We are so proud of our fall athletes!

We L❤️VE Mondays! Congratulations to our students and teachers caught making a difference at RJHS.

Happy Labor Day, all! I am thankful for our amazing staff at RJHS that make this a great place for our students. All staff--teachers, aides, secretaries, librarians, custodians, maintenance, food service, transportation--focusing on serving the young folks that enter our doors daily. And we are off to a terrific start. Thank you, staff! You make me proud to work at Roxana Junior High School.
Enjoy your Labor Day, Roxana.
