Mrs. Russell's science class is working hard to determine what happened to their beloved Sally Scarecrow. Today students were testing the powder from the crime scene to see if the powder contained a starch by using iodine. They also tested to see if the powder was baking soda by using vinegar. Can the kids find out what happened to Sally? Stay tuned.

Students in Mrs. Russell's 6th grade science class were using a pH indicator to test three substances to see if they contained an acid or a base. This is almost their final experiment before making a decision on what happened to Sally the Scarecrow. Science is fun!

Dear Parents, We're issuing an urgent warning about a dangerous social media trend called the "Chromebook Challenge" or "Chromebook Durability Test." Students are intentionally damaging school-issued Chromebooks by inserting conductive materials like paper clips or pencil leads into charging or USB ports. This creates a short circuit, leading to serious risks: overheating, smoke, sparks, and even fires. This behavior is a significant safety hazard to students and school property. Any student caught intentionally damaging a device will face disciplinary action. Families will also be held financially responsible, with a $330 replacement fee for irreparable damage. Please talk to your child immediately about the extreme dangers and consequences of this activity. Emphasize treating school property with respect and the serious safety risks of tampering with electronics. Your cooperation helps us ensure a safe learning environment for everyone.
